Terms of Service

Welcome to Codex Helper ("the Bot"), a Discord bot designed to provide Guides & tools for Rise of Kingdoms. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Bot.

By inviting, adding, or using the Bot in your Discord server, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Bot.

This is a legal agreement between the developers of Codex Helper ("We", "Our", "Us") and you, the user or the owner of the server on which the Bot is installed ("You", "Your").

You acknowledge that to use our Bot, you must also be in compliance with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines at all times.

2.1. Subscription Requirement: Access to the full functionality of the Codex Helper bot requires an active Patreon subscription, managed through our official Patreon page.

2.2. Verification: Your subscription is linked to your Discord account via Patreon. To authorize a Discord server, a user with an active subscription and appropriate server permissions must run the /patreon verify command.

2.3. Server Permissions: To function correctly, the Bot requires certain permissions within your Discord server. Key administrative commands, such as server authorization (/patreon verify) and channel management (/channel), require the user to have Administrator or Manage Server permissions. You are responsible for the Bot's configuration and use within any server you manage.

2.4. Age Restriction: You must be at least 13 years old to use Discord and, consequently, the Bot. By using the Bot, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

Your use of certain features is subject to the following additional terms:

3.1. Ark of Osiris Signups: By using the Ark of Osiris signup feature, you or your server members acknowledge that you will be prompted to provide an in-game name. This name will be stored and publicly displayed within your Discord server in the signup embed to create team rosters. You are responsible for the information provided by your members.

3.2. Event Calendar and Reminders: When you set up the Event Calendar or other reminder features (e.g., for Ancient Ruins/Altar), the Bot will create and manage Discord roles for notification purposes. You grant the Bot permission to create these roles and send pings to them in the designated channels.

All content, information, data, and tools provided by the Codex Helper bot (including commander data, event guides, bundle information, pairings, etc.) are the intellectual property of Codex Helper or its licensors. You may use this information for your personal or server-related informational purposes but may not redistribute, sell, or otherwise exploit it for commercial gain without explicit written permission.

You agree not to use the Bot:

- In any way that violates any applicable national, federal, state, local, or international law or regulation.
- To exploit, harm, or attempt to exploit or harm minors in any way by exposing them to inappropriate content or otherwise.
- To transmit, or procure the sending of, any advertising or promotional material without our prior written consent, including any "junk mail," "chain letter," "spam," or any other similar solicitation.
- To impersonate or attempt to impersonate Codex Helper, an employee, another user, or any other person or entity.
- To engage in any other conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use or enjoyment of the Bot, or which, as determined by us, may harm Codex Helper or users of the Bot, or expose them to liability.
- To interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Bot or the data contained therein.
- To attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Bot or its related systems or networks.
- To reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any aspect of the Bot.
- To use any automated means to access the Bot or collect any information from the Bot (including bots, spiders, or other automated devices or programs) unless expressly permitted by us.

The Bot is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Neither Ruz @ The King's Codex nor any person associated with Codex Helper makes any warranty or representation with respect to the completeness, security, reliability, quality, accuracy, or availability of the Bot. Without limiting the foregoing, neither Ruz @ The King's Codex nor anyone associated with Codex Helper represents or warrants that the Bot will be accurate, reliable, error-free, or uninterrupted, that defects will be corrected, that our site or the server that makes it available are free of viruses or other harmful components, or that the Bot will otherwise meet your needs or expectations.

To the fullest extent provided by law, in no event will Ruz @ The King's Codex, its affiliates, or their licensors, service providers, employees, agents, officers, or directors be liable for damages of any kind, under any legal theory, arising out of or in connection with your use, or inability to use, the Bot, any websites linked to it, any content on the Bot or such other websites, including any direct, indirect, special, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not to, personal injury, pain and suffering, emotional distress, loss of revenue, loss of profits, loss of business or anticipated savings, loss of use, loss of goodwill, loss of data, and whether caused by tort (including negligence), breach of contract, or otherwise, even if foreseeable.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Ruz @ The King's Codex, its affiliates, licensors, and service providers, and its and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, suppliers, successors, and assigns from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of the Bot, including, but not to, any use of the Bot's content, services, and products other than as expressly authorized in these Terms.

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Bot immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms. This may include de-authorizing your server if your Patreon subscription becomes inactive. Upon termination, your right to use the Bot will immediately cease.

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide notice through our official Discord support server. Your continued use of the Bot after any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
